Irish Pub Tour - Friday February 26, 2016 - Day 11- Oklahoma, Arkansas & Indianapolis
With the launch of American Bars, and the knowledge that 75% of all bars have no Internet presence, we know our work is cut out for us.
Here are two great examples:
Tim’s first stop today is Hot Springs, Arkansas, at the Copper Penny.
Try as a might, the only exterior photo of the place is one the ribbon cutting from a couple of years ago. The interior photos show rows of bottles with colored lights beneath them. It is an interesting shot, but it does not relate the ambiance of the place, especially if one seeks good times and new friends.
This place has a modern website, but forgot to say anything. Apparently there is good music, good friends and lots and lots of beer. That is about the only message conveyed, but not shown.
Nonetheless, with a drink in his hand and a smile on his face, Tim will undoubtedly win them all over. If you are in the area, why not join him?

Second stop of the day, Connor’s Pub, Indianapolis, Indiana.
OK, sometimes a dive bar is not exactly what you think it is. Connor’s resembles grandma’s little cottage at the edge of a neighborhood in Indianapolis. The only difference is that there are no flower pots in the windows, just decals of the Colts and Cubs. It you blink while driving past, you would miss this place. However, the exterior calm hides a vibrant and crazy interior. It can be said without any doubt that the crowd here is fun loving and a touch outrageous. I simply turn your attention to the ‘Onesies” crowd photo…enough said.
Perhaps it has something to do with Indiana’s famed “horizontal rain.” — Storms and winds so strong the rain come at you at eye level.
Tim will be in for quite a surprise with this group.
Did he pack his jammies? This is a very cozy little pub.
