March 11, 12, 13
Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The month long trek is almost done, and so is Tim. He has got to be worn to the bone by now with all this travel and nothing much to fuel him but 15 year old Irish Whiskey. Well, come to think of it, that might just very well be what keeps him going…
Tim in traveling through Chicago, Connecticut, and over to Boston this weekend.
Let’s have a peek at his listed stops. Keep in mind that there are gaps in the itinerary and it simply states the additional pubs are “to be determined.”
The Gage
24 S. Michigan Avenue,
Chicago, IL 60603

This is upscale. An Irish pub with valet parking is an oxymoron. The Gage is an iconic Chicago restaurant located on Michigan Ave. in Chicago’s historic Gage Group buildings, directly across the street from the famed Millennium Park. The restaurant serves rustic American fare in a refined, lively setting, complemented by an innovative libations program.
Another clue — when have you ever heard hard drinking Irishmen talk about “Libations?” Yes, this place is very upscale.
The Gage takes its name from the Gage Group of buildings (18-24 South Michigan) which were constructed in the late 1800s and now historically landmarked. Originally, the buildings housed three milliners, including Gage Brothers & Co. founded by David and George Gage.Gage Brothers & Co. supplied hats to fashionable ladies throughout the U.S. and abroad. The installation in the staircase to our lower level features original early 20th century theater magazine advertisements for Gage hats which were known for their
“superb style, sterling quality and superior workmanship”.
On Saturday, Tim heads to Clifton, New Jersey. Shannon Rose Irish Pub combines Irish roots with a commitment to the community.
The interior of the pub is entirely composed of furniture and decorations shipped directly from Ireland, but their chef-driven, scratch-made menu incorporates seasonal & local ingredients from local community partners. Shannon Rose is dedicated to providing Irish hospitality, and are always eager to provide their guests with “a warm meal and a perfectly poured pint.” Slàinte!

On Sunday, March 13, Tim will be in Norwich, CT at Wilson’s Saloon.
Wilson's Saloon - Here’s the problem with most bars: the vibe sometimes dies around 1am. Luckily for Tim and the other patrons here, when most bars are sweeping up the floors and closing shop, Wilson's Saloon kicks it into another gear. The place usually keeps it going ‘til way late.

On Monday, Tim hits Boston. There are probably too many Irish Pubs to even list. As such, he has not offered a selection.
On Thursday, St. Paddy’s Day, Tim will be in the New York City for the parade.
He has one last pub to finish the tour.
We’ll tell you about it…On Monday.
