This fits neatly into the “Why didn’t I think of that before?!?!?” category.

At American Bars, we and all of you valued readers and users out there love bars. Chances are, you also love chocolate.

Leave it to Carlsberg Brewers in the UK to put the two together. Yes, this Easter, instead of a chocolate bunny, they created…wait for it…A FULL CHOCOLATE BAR.

    Carlsberg

The pop up was good enough to eat…truly. It was a fully functioning bar made entirely of chocolate — ten feet deep — the common size of a real, traditional British pub. Check the photo and weep.

The Carlsberg chocolate bar contained all the trimmings: a handcrafted dartboard, chocolate stools, a chocolate TV set that highlighted scenes from England’s World Cup team.

Where was this treasure located and when? Just prior to Easter, Carlsberg set this luscious edifice up at the Truman brewery in Shoreditch.

Yes, that is astonishing. But wait! There’s More!!!

Everyone visiting received a complimentary half pint of Carlsberg, served in a Carlsberg engraved milk chocolate glass.

It took three full months to build this bar using about a half a ton of chocolate.

Prudence Staite, a chocolate sculptor and food artist, created the structure.

Keep in mind that Britain enjoys a four day bank holiday over Easter and the occasion is usually a major beer drinking stretch for the Brits. Carlsberg sells lots of product during this time.

Yes, it is clever and just like chocolate, we couldn’t resist enjoying it and sharing it with you.
