I’ve never been a big TV show watcher. I love movies and sports so that is usually what is on the television. However, I have recently been watching “The West Wing” on Netflix. It is a very interesting show and I think it did a pretty good job of portraying the White House, Congress, and the political process. This got me thinking of how far we have come since that fateful evening many years ago when the idea of American Bars was hatched, while oddly enough, having a couple of beers. In keeping with “The West Wing” tie in, this is The State of the Union of American Bars.
It was only about two months ago that we were running around like crazy making sure the website would be ready for our Soft Launch party in Venice Beach. It was a mad flurry of confirming sponsors, coordinating with the venue, ordering banners and a ton of other stuff. It was chaotic, but everything came together and we had a very successful launch party.
Since American Bars officially launched, we have continued to refine the website and add data to make sure we have the best resources possible. We immediately went into app development for IOS and Android versions. There have been countless calls, visits and emails to bar owners, breweries, distilleries and distributors, spreading the gospel of American Bars.
We also delved into the world or beer festivals when we had a booth at the OC Brew HaHa Craft Beer Festival in September. We met a bunch of really nice people and met a bunch of people from the Southern California area and national breweries.
We launched “The Weekly Draft”, our electronic newsletter which features information about beers and liquors, the website, and a ton more.
We broke the 10,000 likes barrier on Facebook and are well on our way to 11,000, then 12,000 etc.
Each day more and more bars are claiming their listings and getting signed up for American Bars.
We will soon be releasing the IOS and Android versions of our app, which is incredibly exciting.
Each day progress is made. On some days it is significant and others minor but progress is made. We will continue to add more information and refine each day.
The future for American Bars could not be brighter, but there is one thing.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
One of the reasons why we created American Bars was because we wanted to provide the most comprehensive experience for the bar patron, and bar owner. We wanted to create an easy platform for bars to be able to public their information, events, photos, beers, liquors, cocktails, and have the ability to make changes to their profiles easily and quickly at a fair price. We wanted to give them a ton of bang for their buck and we have accomplished our mission. We want our users to be able to find information and instructions on their favorite beers, liquors and cocktails. We have more than 75,000 beers, 1400 liquors and 900 cocktails, but we don’t have everything. This is where you come in:
If you are a bar owner and receive an email from us to claim your listing, take a few moments and claim it. Even if you choose only the free listing, you have the ability to add your logo, a description of your bar, hours of operation and the beers you serve.
If you choose a Full Mug or expanded listing, take advantage of all the features. Update events, beers, liquors and cocktails served. Add photo galleries and make it look great. By doing this you provide a much better experience for users and you have an amazing page to market your establishment.
If you are an Enthusiast using the site and you can’t find your favorite bar, beer, liquor or cocktail, suggest it to us and we will make sure that it gets added. Even better, we will give you credit for the suggestion.
For American Bars Enthusiasts there are a ton of really cool things you can do to make your profile page look great. It is your page – make it your own.
The apps will be free so when they are launched, make sure to download and use them. They are very user friendly and cool.
Finally, tell everyone you know about the website, app and American Bars.
When I look at the future of American Bars, I see a future that looks incredibly bright. Our promise to you is that we will never stop working to make the site better. We will always continue to add new information, develop additional features and make the user experience even better. Help us get the word out!
Thank You!
