Taking It To The Bank

This is no place to 'reserve' yourself according to, UrbanDaddy. New Los Angeles hot spot, The Reserve, opened its doors on October 9th and has thus far, gotten mixed reviews - mostly good, but still mixed. The Reserve is inside an old 1924 bank vault, which, the venue alone is enough for me to want to go and check it out at least once. One room even has an entire wall made out of safe deposit boxes. And, as you walk down the stairs, you can't avoid walking over the "cache of gold" as you enter the vault. I will have to agree with UrbanDaddy when they point out that you're likely to feel a bit Scrooge McDuck at this point - ooo ooo Ducktails! Another factor of coolness is members being able to store their liquor inside one of the safe deposit boxes and "return another day to pick up where they left off."

Reading a few reviews on Yelp, some patrons really enjoyed themselves, the atmosphere, and decor, however, some complained about the price of drinks and said it was noisy and not really worth it (noisy? Though, inside a "bank" it's still a club - in case you forgot). And, prices seemed true to LA - you'll find $12 for a mixed drink is pretty standard in this city.

Either way, The Reserve is a place that is worth going to at least once for the experience and decor. I mean, who wouldn't want to feel like Scrooge McDuck once in their life?

If you're in the LA area, check it out and let us know what you think. Cheers.
